Junker and Hartmann move up
Production and German Sales for GEA Air Treatment under new management responsibility
As of 1 March 2009, responsibility for production plants changed hands at GEA Air Treatment. Dr. Michael Junker (39), previously managing director of production facilities in Gaspoltshofen (Austria) and in Wurzen (Germany) will in future be responsible on the Division Board for production activities of GEA Air Treatment throughout all of Europe. Wolf Hartmann (46), who had from June of 2004 been in charge of the German sales company GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH, will in future – as member of the expanded Division Board – be responsible for the organisation of all GEA air-handling systems (Germany, Austria, Sweden, and Turkey). GEA Happel Klimatechnik will now operate under double leadership: beginning immediately, Martin Beisemann as Sales Director for North Germany will lead the GEA Northern, Western, and Eastern Regions. Frank Ernst is now Sales Director for South Germany, and will therefore be responsible for the Central, South, and Southwest Areas.
Junker on the Division Board
Beginning on 1 March responsibility changed hands for the production plants in GEA Air Treatment. In future, Dr. Michael Junker (39) will be responsible on the Division Board for the production activities of all GEA Air Treatment plants in Europe. Junker will take over from Jochen Engelke, who will now accept other challenges outside GEA Group. Until now, Michael Junker’s management responsibilities included startup of production for GEA CAIR ventilation systems, and the resulting plant reorganization efforts. He will now support many production startup efforts: e.g., the products for decentral climate control announced at ISH 2009.
The fact that he will take over his new position in a time of economic difficulties is a challenge for Dr. Junker: “Many customers intend to invest – or must do so – in order to complete their construction projects. They are accordingly looking for economical but high-quality solutions. We would like to meet their needs with optimised production processes, lean and fast management, and advanced equipment. To be allowed to implement the necessary measures is a welcome challenge for me.”
Hartmann in charge of the Central Air Technology Segment
Wolf Hartmann (46), who had directed the German sales company GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH beginning in June of 2004, will now in the expanded Division Board immediately accept responsibility for the Central Air Technology Segment. He will be in charge of organisation of the GEA plants in Wurzen (near Leipzig), Gaspoltshofen (Austria), Enköping (Sweden), and Istanbul (Turkey).
As CEO of GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH, the latest sales organisation in GEA Air Treatment, Wolf Hartmann had already intensively become involved in central air-handling units. Under his corporate leadership, he not only established the GEA CAIR range on the market, but (for example) also implemented life-cycle cost accounting for GEA central air-handling units. Since then, customers of GEA Air Treatment have had it appreciably easier to quickly find ventilation solutions that are optimal from the technical and economic standpoints. Hartmann, with a degree in process engineering, has also accepted responsibility outside GEA Air Treatment for ventilation systems: for example, in the RLT Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, and at Eurovent. As Wolf Hartmann explains, “I am very much looking forward to coordinating the future development and production of the further system variants and the new ranges of our extensive equipment spectrum: including for example, the new compact units that will come onto the market this year.”
German Sales now with double management
The top level of the sales company GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH has also been re-organised. Martin Beisemann will, effective immediately, act as Sales Director for North Germany and will lead the GEA Northern, Western, and Eastern Regions. His colleague Frank Ernst is now in the same position as Sales Director for South Germany, and will therefore be responsible for the Central, South, and Southwest Areas. Beisemann and Ernst will directly report to the Managing Directors Dr. Hugo Blaum and Dr. Frank Vossloh.
